Costa Rican society is very multicultural. Spanish culture from the time of the Conquistadores features prominently. Even though most natives to Costa Rica are white or mestizo (mixed white and Indian), there’s a sizeable Afro-Caribbean population along the East coast, as well as white European, Asian, and North American populations throughout the country. Upwards of 80% of Costa Rica’s coastal real estate is owned by foreigners. As a result, English is now widely spoken, making it very easy to navigate the country and society.
AmoLatina endeavors to make your journey to romance in Latin America a simple and abundantly enjoyable experience. Booking your flight to Latin America is an easy task as most airline flight schedules are very flexible with several departures a day. When you book your flight, either follow our recommendation or choose an alternative to arrive on the designated date. Just let us know your airline, flight number and arrival time – we’ll do the rest. Please remember to reach the international departure airport at least 3 hours before take-off and leave the same time on your return journey.
Colombians have a wild party spirit ingrained in their culture which influences many of the festivals and events that take place. Medellin is a great example of this vitality and is home to countless bars and clubs from up market dance palaces and restaurants to simple cantinas.
An essential part of Medellin nightlife includes the local liquors and other drinks that are sure to set your night on fire. As expected, the most popular beverage in Medellin is beer (Cerveza) with popular brands including Poker, Aguila, Club Colombia or a selection from local brewery Tres Cordilleras. Cerveza is often chased down with licorice spirit Aguardiente, or a variety of rum (ron) including locally produced favorite Ron Medellín Añejo. To make your evening even more interesting, choose from the multitude of cocktails (cocteles) on offer. For a lighter experience, try out the Refajo that combines beer and a local soft drink.
You won’t merely sample nightlife in Bogota – you’ll be completely immersed in the experience. Colombians love to party and the capital is one of the best places to relish the Latin spirit brought alive by delectable food, local liqueur and traditional dance. Whether you want to try out a string of bars and clubs in La Candelaria or find a cozy nook for a close encounter, Bogota gives you the freedom to celebrate.
